Using Twitter to Get Referrals Quickly

by Carl on August 10, 2011

As many of you may know, Twitter is one of the most popular marketing mediums online.  However, it is also one of the most abused mediums as well.  I’m sure many of you have posted things like “I want a new Macbook Pro,”  or “I need to lose some weight.”  I’m sure that, if you did, you may have seen some CPA offer or product trial spammed at your Twitter feed.  This may have happened to you even if you posted your affiliate link.  It’s become a real problem for legitimate marketers, because such acts put people on their guard.  So, how do we use Twitter effectively, without being labeled as a spammer?

The solution to this problem is to engage in conversation.  If you are looking to get the cheapest MacBook Pro on the market, you need referrals.  So, we begin by first, by publishing a blog article (one on a free blog, such as Blogger, works well) or YouTube video that explains how one can earn a free MacBook Pro by signing up as a referral, completing an offer, etc…  Make sure the post or video description has your referral link.  And then you find people who are tweeting, say “I want a Macbook Pro,” by using the Twitter search feature.  You tell them about your blog post or video, and answer any questions that they may have, all through Twitter.  You won’t be seen as a spammer, because you are simply giving them useful information.  You’ll find that this method works quicker and more reliably than simply tweeting your link.

I recommend that you spend half an hour to 1 hour each day implementing this method.  I also recommend that you don’t try to target very many people at once.  Otherwise you may start getting different conversations mixed up, which will cost you referrals you otherwise could easily get.  Remember, you want that freebie.  So spend the time it takes to get it.  Millions of people already do.  You can be one of them.

This method was first brought to my attention by Mario Shamir of http://www.eazyfreebies.com.

Hello this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can definitely see your enthusiasm in the work you write. The world hopes for even more passionate writers such as you who aren’t afraid to mention how they believe.
